At the heart of this talisman lies a mysterious black lotus, forever preserved within a clear, amber-like resin, seemingly frozen in time. Its origin is a blend of beauty and danger, nature and magic. This precious artifact is ardently pursued by the dark elves, as legends tell of its power to lead its bearer to unimaginable treasures.

The talisman’s magic is activated when it’s worn close to the heart. On its back, there’s a series of intricate elven glyphs, which only glow when its power is in use. Granting a +1 to AC when attuned and worn, the Lotus Seeker’s Talisman possesses 10 charges according to lore. It is unknown how many charges are left (discretion of DM). The bearer can use an action to expend a charge, invoking the lotus’s magic to detect gold, gemstones, or other precious minerals within a 250ft radius. As treasures draw near, the preserved lotus seemingly comes to life, its petals slowly opening and emitting a soft, radiant glow. This glow becomes more intense and vibrant the closer the bearer gets to the source of the treasure.

Description:
Deep within the resin of this talisman, the black lotus seems to pulse with otherworldly energy, its petals darker and more intricate than the common variants. Shadows seem to dance around the amber, creating a mesmerizing effect, as if the heart of the abyss itself is captured within.

The talisman’s magic is activated when it’s worn close to the heart. On its back, there’s a series of intricate elven glyphs, which only glow when its power is in use. Granting a +1 to AC when attuned and worn, the Lotus Seeker’s Talisman possesses 10 charges. The bearer can use an action to expend a charge, invoking the lotus’s magic to detect gold, gemstones, or other precious minerals within a 200ft radius. As treasures draw near, the preserved lotus seemingly comes to life, its petals slowly opening and emitting a soft, radiant glow. This glow becomes more intense and vibrant the closer the bearer gets to the source of the treasure. On each use, roll a d20. On a 1 to 5, the lotus inside withers away, and the talisman loses its magic.

Defense of the Abyss: The bearer gains a +1 to AC.

Shield of Shadows: When the wearer is attacked, they can use their reaction to expend 2 charges, causing the talisman to envelop them in a cloak of shadows. This grants them resistance to all damage for that single attack.

Dark Elf Affinity (Elven bloodlines; chaotic or evil alignment): If the wearer has a Dark-Elf bloodline, they gain an additional +1 bonus to all ability checks related to searching for or appraising treasure.

This talisman, containing an ethereal black lotus, seems to shift and warp the very reality around it. Its petals exude a nebulous darkness, from which twinkling starlight occasionally sparkles. The amber encasing the lotus flows and shimmers like liquid, even though it’s solid to the touch. The essence of the cosmos is said to be captured within this relic.

When attuned and worn close to the heart, the talisman bestows profound abilities:

Cosmic Guard: The bearer gains a +2 to AC, and they are immune to being Frightened.

Abyssal Veil: As a reaction, when the wearer takes damage, they can expend 3 charges to momentarily step into the void, becoming intangible and avoiding all effects of that single attack or spell.

Cosmic Connection: Once per long rest, the wearer can commune with the cosmos, asking a single question as if using the Commune spell without expending a spell slot or material components.

Dark Elf Mastery: If attuned by a dark elf (granted to players with Elven bloodlines; chaotic or evil), the bearer gains Advantage on all Charisma-based checks and can cast Plane Shift once, choosing only the Shadowfell or the Feywild. The ability resets after a long rest.
